Who We Are

Our Mission

At Chatterbox Kids Orlando, we believe every child deserves to be heard — and understood. Communication is how kids make friends, ask for what they need, share what they're thinking, and show the world exactly who they are. When speaking, understanding, reading, or connecting doesn't come easily, it can quietly touch every part of a child's day, from the classroom to the playground to the dinner table.

Our mission is simple: to help children find their voice and the confidence to use it. We provide individualized, evidence-based speech and language therapy for kids working on articulation, understanding language, expressing themselves in full sentences, fluency and stuttering, reading and writing, and social skills. Every plan starts with the child in front of us — their strengths, their goals, and the things that make them light up — and grows from there. And because confident kids are built alongside confident families, we partner closely with parents every step of the way.

Meet Miss Lila

For more than two decades, Lila Carder — "Miss Lila" to the children who can't wait to see her — has been helping kids across Central Florida become confident communicators. A Master's-level, National Board Certified Speech-Language Pathologist (M.A., CCC-SLP), she brings over 20 years of clinical experience to every session, paired with the patience, warmth, and playfulness that put children instantly at ease.

Miss Lila's approach blends proven, research-backed methods with a genuine love for the work. She uses structured, skill-building strategies — phonemic awareness and phonics, vocabulary and working memory, visualizing and verbalizing, main idea and context clues, inferencing, problem-solving, and conversational and non-verbal skills — but she delivers them through play, connection, and a lot of encouragement. Kids don't feel like they're in therapy. They feel like they're with someone who believes in them.

She works with children and young people from ages 3 to 18, and is a direct provider for the Gardiner Scholarship, making quality speech and language services accessible to more Orlando families. Based in the Dr. Phillips area of Orlando, Miss Lila has built her reputation one child, one breakthrough, and one proud parent at a time.
